TAKING ICT TO THE NEXT LEVEL........
KEBBI STATE MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE BUSINESS UNION TRAINS 200 YOUTHS
Kebbi state Government in collaboration Kebbi Multipurpose Cooperative Society is set to establish four standard ICT training centers and cafes this is in line with the State Empowerment Scheme designed for the women and youths.
The development followed the approval of funds by His Excellency, Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu. It is in line with the current administration passion for youths empowerment by equipping them with skills and developmental trainings so as to engage them positively and become financially independent. The participants are to be trained on various ICT skills which includes Computer Appreciation, Software and Web development, Printing amongst others.
Special Assistant on Youth Development, Nafiu Saidu Magini disclosed that the centers are tailored to be self sustaining by providing discounted services such as photocopying, Internet and secretarial services to the general public. He further stated that the centers will be located in all the four emirate councils in the state.
The scheme is one of the continuous efforts and commendable initiatives by office of the wife of the governor, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu to empower women and youths in the state. A total sum of N100,000M was approved by the state house of assembly out of which shops have been opened in 21LGAs and soft loans disbursed to women cooperatives to the tune of N60M. Hon Magini uses the opportunity to appeal to beneficiaries to be conscientious with paying back so that the scheme will continue to revolve.
